How the Biodegradability of High-Performance Lubricants is proven
On the basis of the OECD 301B test the biodegradability of high-performance lubricants is evaluated. The CO2 production of the product is investigated in a closed liquid environment over a minimum of 28 days. A lubricant is classified as biodegradable when it is biodegraded at least 60% within these 28 days. Of course, other tests as ISO 15380 investigate the acceptability of a lubricant on the environment
